David Lawry - Founder & CEO
David Lawry founded Machinery For Africa on a simple conviction: that serious buyers across Africa’s mining and construction sectors deserve world-class sourcing, logistics and deal-making, delivered by someone who truly understands this continent.
Born in Zimbabwe and based in Johannesburg, David has spent more than three decades operating across African markets, from the Copperbelt to the Cape, from road projects in Mozambique to mine decommissions in South Africa. That ground-level experience underpins every transaction MFA handles.
Today (MFA – South Africa and M4A – Mauritius), operate as a dual-entity brokerage with the reach of an international operation and the accountability of a founder-led business.
What David Does
David personally oversees every high-value transaction across the MFA and M4A portfolios, from first enquiry to final delivery. He is not an administrator. He is the deal architect: sourcing, structuring, negotiating and coordinating logistics for machines that lesser operations would not attempt.
His commercial relationships span OEM dealerships, mine decommissions, repossession portfolios, ex-rental fleet managers and international brokers. He holds active and growing relationships with OEMs, enabling access to factory rebuilds, low-hour lease equipment and repossessions.

Specialist Knowledge
Surface Mining | Road Construction | Civil Plant | Quarry Equipment | Industrial Generator Sets
I started Machinery For Africa due to a gap I identified. Buyers across this continent, mine owners, road contractors, civil construction companies need access to quality plant at fair prices, with someone who understands African logistics, African borders and African market realities. MFA exists because Africa deserves better.
